Roe Deer

The roe deer (Capreolus capreolus) is also known as the western roe deer. (The males of the species are occasionally referred to as a roebuck.) The roe is rather small in size, with reddish and grey-brown fur, and is well-adapted to cold environments and low temperatures.

The roe deer is widespread in Europe, from Scandinavia in the north to the Mediterranean in the south, and from Scotland in the northwest to the Caucasus in the southeast, as well as in northern Iran and Iraq.
